When most people think of wholesale products the first thing that comes to their mind is China. They think they can purchase products for
pennies on the dollar and resell them for 5 times as much as they paid for them.
The truth, however, is that buying wholesale from China is not for anyone.
The chances of you being ripped off by somebody is very high since most wholesalers in China require you to make payment with popular money transfer services. If
they're dishonest, they can run off with your payment and there's nothing you can really do about it since making a payment through these services is usually a
violation of their terms. These services are only setup for friends and relatives to send money to each other. Not for complete strangers to make payments to each
other.
Another thing you have to consider is the likelihood of you receiving tons of broken products or even the wrong products. If you live thousands of miles
away from China, the distance the products will have to travel increase the chances of that happening. If that were to happen and your shipment wasn't insured, it
would be very costly and timely to send the products back to the company if they would accept them.
The last thing you have to consider is the cost of
shipping the products and the fees that are added on for purchasing from China. Unless you can get the products for dirt cheap prices, this will often bring up the
prices so high that you'd be paying almost retail in the end! The reason why most big companies can afford to buy from China is because they order hundreds of
thousands of dollars worth of products which significantly brings down the cost-per-unit. Simply ordering a few hundred dollars worth isn't going to get you the prices
you want.
My suggestion to you is to locate a "legitimate" wholesale source within your own country. If possible, try to find a local wholesaler that you can
literally drive to to pick up your order.
